Next, we’ll see churches from the Byzantine era, known for their beautiful mosaics and domes. They tell us about the city’s religious life during that time. Then, we’ll explore buildings from when the Ottomans ruled Athens. These have a mix of Greek and Islamic styles. Moving on to the 19th century, we’ll see neoclassical buildings inspired by ancient Greek architecture, such as the National Library and the University of Athens. Finally, we’ll see modern buildings that mix old and new styles.
